Saturday, November 04

Holiday Inn Truro - Elm/Oak Ballroom

Admission - Delegate Pass Holders

Intersectionality maintains that there is no singular experience of an identity. Rather than understanding women in the music industry solely through the lens of gender, it is necessary to consider other intersecting identity variables such as race, social class, sexual orientation, age, social class, religion, mental/physical disability and metal/physical illness, to have a more complete understanding of the full range of issues facing women in the music industry.

Participants will touch on the importance of intersectional feminism within the music community, their own experiences and what we can do to build a strong and diverse scene. Music Nova Scotia believes in diversity and equality and is pleased to present conference content that question the status quo.
